| The Reality |
|
| June 24, 2003 |
| The Pavilion at The Belo Mansion is just about there. The DBA should obtain its certificate of occupancy in early July, and meetings will be held in the new addition while our historic home gets a facelift with new flooring and painting. Watch Headnotes and the DBA Online for important information regarding the grand opening and meeting announcements. This is a great time for the Bar and the facility, now in the process of being furnished, is a beautiful and fitting home for the DBA. |

| The Light at The End of The Tunnel |
|
| April 30, 2003 |
| At this time, the Pavilion is nearing completion. Finish out work is beginning inside and windows can be seen. The DBA Board recently toured the facility to rave reviews, and it is apparent what an asset the extra space and parking will be to our members. Fences will come down in the coming weeks and the finer details are becoming priority number one now. |

| We have a building! |
|
| March 27, 2003 |
| With the crane removed and the roof on, the Pavilion is really starting to take shape. It's amazing the speed of construction, and with the basic structure all above ground now the community can begin to see the impressiveness of this endeavor. A lot of the work now moves inside to the infrastructure and the metal roof will soon be covered as well. |

| Moving on Up |
|
| February 28, 2003 |
| The framework has been installed for the Pavilion at Belo Mansion. It can be seen rising as high as the current Belo roof, and the shape of the building is easily discernable. The building progresses so quickly now, it's nearly impossible to keep up with those construction workers! Take a moment and drive by. You'll be amazed. Opening is still tentatively set for July-August. |

| Parking Progression |
|
| January 30, 2002 |
| During the months of December and January, all of the four levels in the garage were poured and it began to take shape. The workers seemed to work endlessly, as the progress was noted each and every day. Now at and almost above street level, in the coming months the infrastructure of the Pavilion will start, and the DBA can watch as the new building comes to life before our eyes. |

| In the Garage |
|
| December 20, 2002 |
| The garage is truly beginning to take form. The construction workers completed digging in November and over the course of December have begun to assemble the tables in the garage, which structures the garage. Levels can already be differentiated in the garage, with work being completed exponentially fast. The entire garage should be completed in a couple of months, making way for construction on the actual pavilion to begin! |
|
| Hitting Rock Bottom |
|
| November 18, 2002 |
| Over the last month, the construction workers have hit rock bottom in the construction process. They hauled out TONS of red Texas dirt to reveal a tougher layer underneath. Working through this, the construction company is preparing to start work on the actual garage structure in the next month or two. |
|
| Support System |
|
| September 13, 2002 |
| As the hole for the Belo parking lot is being dug, the support system was placed to hold up the walls of the structure. Metal and concrete supports have gone up to protect the integrity of the original mansion as well as to make the garage walls structurally sound. A hole deeper than 60 feet will accomodate the garage. |
|
| Digging in the Dirt |
|
| August 26, 2002 |
| As of the end of August, the grease trap and the utilities for Belo have been relocated. The retention system around the back portion of the property is going into place at this time. Then, a 60-foot hole will be dug for the four-story parking garage. The back has been dug out all the way to Belo's edge. .

| Pop Goes the Pavement |
|
| July 22, 2002 |
| As of this week, Rogers O'Brien has begun popping up the pavement in the back lot. In the next couple of weeks, the pavement will continue to be ripped out and the hole will be dug for the parking lot. A main objective right now is keeping Belo up and running and making sure our construction time is as non-obtrusive as it can be. Handicapped parking is available in the front of the house with stair-free access through Belo Hall South. And, as always, if special arrangements are required for a person with disabilities to attend a particular seminar, please contact Cathy Maher at 214/220-7401 as soon as possible but no later than two business days before the seminar. Also please remember that parking is available in the Cathedral for $1.50 if validated by the Belo cashier. |

| Pavilion Updates |
|
| July 10, 2002 |
| The Pavilion at The Belo Mansion is becoming a reality. Signs of construction have already begun to show at Belo, as workers have been removing plants from around the building and have now relocated the chiller to the side of the building from the parking lot.
The parking lot IS CLOSED as of July 15th. There is plenty of available parking in the area, and maps are available on this site in the parking section. Please bear with us through construction, and remember that all meetings will continue to be held at Belo as usual. You will see the construction fence go up the weekend of July 13th, and that's the sure sign that the vision of our headquarters is taking shape!
Please check back periodically, as we keep you updated on the latest construction reports and updates. |
