Dallas Bar Association Hosts Christmas in July for Local Charities
WHAT: The Dallas Bar Association’s Community Involvement Committee is holding its annual Christmas in July program, which collects donations to benefit local charities. This year’s recipients are Austin Street Centre, North Texas Food Bank, Genesis Women’s Shelter and The Family Place.
The DBA’s Community Involvement Committee, led this year by Co-Chairs Doug Heuvel, of Thompson & Knight LLP,and Ryan McFarlin, of The McFarlin Firm, PLLC, provides volunteers for community projects and activities such as Habitat for Humanity and annual food and clothing drives. Committee project chairs include Elaine Mosher, of J. Elaine Mosher & Associates, P.C., and Tracye McGaughy of Higier Allen Lautin, P.C.
WHEN & WHERE:Donations (including non-perishable food, bed linens, baby and toddler supplies,
clothing and toiletries, housewares, cleaning supplies and laundry detergent)will be accepted on Friday, July 27, 2012, from 9:00 a.m. to noon at the Belo Mansion. (2101 Ross Avenue, Dallas, TX, Locke Room). The charities will send trucks to pick up the donated items that afternoon.
