Jones Day Recognized as Pro Bono Law Firm of the Year
Victoria Neave Recognized asPro Bono Lawyer of the Year
Each year, the Dallas Volunteer Attorney Program (DVAP), a joint project of the Dallas Bar Association and Legal Aid of Northwest Texas, honors the lawyers, judges and other legal professionals who donate pro bono services.
At the Annual Pro Bono Awards Reception on October 30, the Dallas office of Jones Day was recognized as Pro Bono Law Firm of the Year for providing nearly 1,500 hours of pro bono services to DVAP clients.
Jones Day has a long history of and commitment to pro bono work, public service and community involvement in all of their locations around the world. The firm not only encourages all of its attorneys to participate in pro bono work throughout the year, each office also has a designated partner-in-charge of pro bono to further develop the reach of their pro bono activities and encourage the participation of its lawyers and staff.
Victoria Neave, of Victoria Neave Law Firm, PC, was namedPro Bono Lawyer of the Year.
Ms. Neave contributed more than 400 hours of pro bono service through her participation in the DVAP Lend-A-Lawyer Program. The program created by Weil, Gotshal & Manges, LLP in 2006 gives young lawyers an opportunity to learn about pro bono over a three-month period by serving full-time at the DVAP offices. In addition, she performed an additional 325 hours of pro bono legal service in the community.
Ms. Neave focuses on civil litigation, family law and criminal defense. Her commitment to pro bono service continues with her position as the chair of the Dallas Hispanic Bar Association’s Pro Bono Committee.
