Dallas Bar Association

Tort & Insurance Practice Section

Membership includes tort and insurance trial and coverage lawyers on both sides of the docket, corporate risk managers and in-house insurance industry lawyers. CLE presentations offer competing views on cutting edge issues and explore the intricacies and interwoven nature of tort and insurance law. The section also offers a variety of opportunities to join with colleagues in serving the Dallas community.

Meeting Schedule:

The Section generally meets at noon on the 1st Tuesday of each month on the first floor of the historic Belo Mansion in the Winstead Sechrest Ballroom in the Pavillion.

Nationally recognized trial lawyer Jim Perdue, Sr. will present “Telling and Writing a Great Story for Your Case.”  This program will be hosted by the Tort & Insurance Practice Section and the Business Litigation Section of the Dallas Bar Association.  In 1989, Forbes magazine described Mr. Perdue as the "king" of Texas medical malpractice lawyers.  He is a recent recipient of the Lifetime Excellence in Advocacy Award from the Texas Association of Civil Trial and Appellate Specialists and the author of "Winning with Stories: Using the Narrative to Persuade in Trials, Speeches and Lectures." In this presentation, Mr. Perdue will describe how to create narrative elements and tell a persuasive story to reach a winning verdict.
