DVAP - Types of Assistance

The Dallas Volunteer Attorney Program provides advice, brief assistance, and representation in family, benefits, consumer, employment, housing, landlord-tenant, probate, and wills matters. Services are free to eligible clients; however, clients may be responsible for filing fees and other court costs.

Pro Se Divorce Clinics

The Dallas Volunteer Attorney Program has an excellent Pro Se Divorce Clinic whereby clients represent themselves in simple, uncontested divorce matters with the assistance of DVAP volunteers and staff.  Participants in the pro se divorce clinic may have children and a minimal amount of property but cannot have a contested divorce case.  All participants must attend at least two and possibly 3 clinics before obtaining a divorce.  To see if you qualify for help through the Pro Se Clinic, you must apply for legal services through DVAP.  Spanish-speaking clients are welcome.

Pro Se Custody & Paternity Clinics

The Dallas Volunteer Attorney has an excellent Pro Se Clinic for people with uncontested custody and paternity cases.  Clients represent themselves in simple, uncontested matters with the assistance of DVAP volunteers and staff.  All participants must attend at least three clinics.  To see if you qualify for help through the Pro Se Clinic, you must apply for legal services through DVAP.  Spanish-speaking clients are welcome.
