This training costs $150, but is free for those who agree to be listed on the Dallas County family courts Pro Bono Ad Litem and Amicus Attorney appointment list and to accept a pro bono case from DVAP. Costs for lunch and parking are not included.

The Ad Litem and Amicus Attorney court-appointments will cover representing parents and children, with speakers addressing such topics as interviewing children, paternity, ethics traps, prescription medications for children, publication appointments, drug testing, and family violence. Applicable statutes and practice tips will be presented to facilitate your understanding, preparation, and practice. A Dallas County family judicial panel will also discuss the court’s perspective.
