Whereas,FRED M. MISKO, JR., a respected Dallas Lawyer, was born September 23, 1942, in Texarkana, Texas, and died in Dallas, Texas, on September 4, 2007; and
Whereas,FRED M. MISKO, JR.attended and graduated from the University of Texas at Austin with a B.A. in 1964 and an LL.B./J.D. in 1968; and
Whereas,FRED M. MISKO, JR., as a leader in the legal profession for over 30 years, was certified by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization in Civil Trial Law and Personal Injury Law and by the National Board of Trial Advocacy; he served as Chair of the Continuing Legal Education Section of the Texas Trial Lawyers Association, President of the Dallas Chapter of the American Board of Trial Attorneys, Director of the Dallas Bar Association, and member of the American Association of Justice and Citizens for a Qualified Judiciary; and
Whereas,FRED M. MISKO, JR., in 2004 was recognized for his support of the Campaign for Equal Access to Justice, a program assuring that Dallas’ neediest residents have access to legal representation, by obtaining a cy pres award on behalf of a class of low-income automobile buyers;
Whereas, FRED M. MISKO, JR. co-chaired the committee which raised funds to install teleconferencing facilities in the Dallas County District Courthouse; and
Whereas,FRED M. MISKO, JR. issurvived by his wife, Karen Misko, his sister, Marilyn Misko Duhon, and his daughter, Morgan Michelle Misko;
Whereas,FRED M. MISKO, JR. was universally held in high esteem by his colleagues for his legal acumen, intellect, devotion to the best interests of his clients and to the highest level of professional standards; and
Whereas,FRED M. MISKO, JR., led a full and fruitful life and will be missed by many fellow lawyers, clients, associates, business friends and social acquaintances throughout Texas; and
Whereas,it is more than appropriate that the Members of this Association record their appreciation and gratitude for the dedication and service of FRED M. MISKO, JR. to this Association, his profession, and his community.
Now therefore, be it resolved,by the Members of this Association, duly assembled in regular meeting, that we observed, with sorrow, the death of FRED M. MISKO, JR. and that we express our sympathy and condolences to the members of his family.
Be it further resolved,that this action be recorded in the permanent records and minutes of the Association and that a copy of this Resolution be forwarded to the family of FRED M. MISKO, JR. as a token of the esteem in which he was held by the Association.
