Construction Law Section

Focuses on a broad range of legal and industry issues that arise in the context of public and private construction projects. Through luncheons and seminars, the Section aims to keep its members abreast of new developments and trends in construction law. The Section actively encourages its members to participate in pro bono projects which involve construction issues. The Section also holds a holiday social in December.

Announcement: The Section publishes a handbook titled "Texas Lien and Bond Claims Handbook" that is available for purchase. The order form for the Texas Lien and Bond Claims Handbook published by this Section may be requested from Tim Sherry, Canterbury, Elder, Gooch, Surratt, Shapiro & Stein, P.C. Phone 972.239.7493. The cost is $150.00 plus shipping charges. Lien Law forms on diskette are included.

Meeting Schedule:

This section meets at noon on the first Thursday of every month, typically at the Belo. The next section meeting is August 5, 2010, featuring Matthew D. Beshara of Ford Nassen & Baldwin P.C., who will be speaking on the topic of Testing the Limits of Limitations on Liability. For September, Lee Shidlofsky of Visser Shidlofsky LLP will be speaking on The Impact of Recent Insurance Coverage Decisions on the Construction Industry.
