TEXAS HIGH SCHOOL MOCK TRIAL COMPETITION
Guidelines
- Teams (7-10 students) may be selected from any high school class; all team members must be enrolled in the same school.
- Team members must meet T.E.A. requirements for eligibility for participation in extracurricular activities.
- The fact situation, rules, and informational materials developed by the Texas High School Mock Trial Board will be used throughout the state and at each level of the competition.
- Teams are encouraged to ask an attorney for assistance in preparing for trial.
- Judging teams in the competition will be attorneys and judges.
- All case materials and criteria for judging are included in the case packet.
- Opposing school teams will be randomly paired in the preliminary rounds of the competition.
- The state championship team will advance to the National High School Mock Trial Championship in Wilmington, Delaware in May.
