Thank you DBA members for voting and supporting local charitable organizations!
All proceeds raised during Charity Madness will be split between the 2 winning charities,
The Family Place and Grant Halliburton Foundation.
Each year, the Dallas Bar Association Community Involvement Committee (CIC) hosts an annual Project Community initiative, formerly known as the Day of Service. On that day, CIC works with local charities to provide volunteers to charitable organizations across the DFW metroplex. Planning for the Sixth Annual Project Community event was underway when the COVID-19 pandemic reached our community.
In order to protect the health and welfare of our members and the community it supports, CIC is proud to announce that it will continue the tradition and spirit of Project Community through a new virtual initiative: DBA Charity Madness 2020. In lieu of our community wide in-person day of service event, CIC will be hosting on online March Madness style charity bracket. Members will have the opportunity to nominate area charities for a chance to make it into the final bracket, which will consist of sixteen local charities. Through member voting, two winning charities will be announced. CIC will work with those charities to disseminate an Amazon Wishlist to permit virtual donations to support the particular organization. Click here for more information.
First get in touch with the DBA Community Involvement Committee Co-Chairs, Chelsie Spencer or Adam Swartz, or the DBA staff liaison Grecia Alfaro to let them know you want to help. Information on how to organize a project and other resources can be found on our FAQ page.
Many of our DBA Day of Service projects are part of ongoing service efforts by the Community Involvement Committee and the DBA has a variety of ways in you can expand your service to others and to the DBA. Click here to view a listing of current volunteer opportunities.
